2010

11 May (Classical Subscription Series): The return of the internationally renowned pianist Konstantin Shamray. This Russian pianist has won the prestigious Sydney International Piano Competition (2008) as well as achieving second place in the 2007 Academies of Higher Music Competition and a gold medal at the 2007 Russian Delphic Games. 10 June (Contemporary Subscription Series): Vertical is a jazz quartet with basses, drums, pianos, keyboards, saxophones and wind instruments. The band performs concerts regularly at jazz festivals and jazz venues in Australia. A CD is planned for release in 2010. 2009

5 February: The Thursday Morning Concert Series featuring Dal Oldham on Violin. Room 1, 11.00am, $5


14 February: “Romance is Dead”, Various Artists. Room 12, 12.00pm till the evening, entry by donation


19 February: The GRC presents Co-Opera performing “The Magic Flute” at St Saviour’s Cathedral on the green. Bring your blanket/chair/champagne and have a great evening. $30/$25 or purchase early for a $5 discount


5 March: Aunty Richard bring together jazz, rock and electronic elements with a focus on composition and melody. Room 12, 7.30pm

8 March: The famous band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon, present a performance of superb entertainment to assist in raising funds for the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal. St Saviour's Hall, 2:00pm, $15/$10/$35


12 March: Tutor Concert featuring Stephen O’Connell on Tenor and Soprano Saxophones presenting “ILLARA - Sounds and Images from Luritja Country” (all original music written by Stephen in the outback). He will be accompanied by the award winning Austin Benjamin Trio. The evening will feature a major complementary art installation by Bob Millis of Arthead, Sid Palazzi and Greg Allen. 14 March: The GRC Choir with the Community Participation Clients and Stephen O’Connell perform at the Goulburn Multicultural Day. Victoria Park, 12.00-2.00pm

26 March: The fabulous multicultural jazz of Way Out West as they return to the GRC after their stunning performance in 2008! They have a unique and alluring sound, which blends Vietnamese and African influences with Jazz, using both modern and traditional instruments. Room 12, 7.30pm

26 June: Multi-instrumentalist Adam Simmons will be performing at the Conservatorium. Adam is one of Australia’s busiest and most versatile musicians and specialises in woodwinds. He has performed with many international stars including Nigel Kennedy, Spiderbait, the Wiggles and the Australian Art Orchestra. Also, the Adam Simmons Toy Band have twice been the house band for ABC’s “Spicks and Specks”. Tickets are $20/$15 and $5 for students of the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium. July 2: GRC Small Ensembles concert.  Room 12, 7:30pm, Entry by note donation.

July 7: Inventive Sydney guitar trio The Three Omegas will be performing their unique take on modern jazz, with influences including The Necks, John Lee Hooker and Ornette Coleman. Room 12, 7:30pm, $20/15/5 (GRC student).

July 10: The Melbourne Guitar Trio showcasing their technical skill and versatility in an amazing concert at the Conservatorium. Room 12, 7:30pm, $20/15/5 (GRC student).

July 17: The GRC Subscription Series performance of the amazing saxophone and guitar work of Duo Montagnard. Room 12, 7:30pm, $35/30/25 (GRC student), $30/25/20 (GRC student) (prepurchase), Subscription ticketing available.

August 5: Solo performance of the virtuosic piano of Roman Rudnytsky. This Ukrainian pianist has stunned audiences worldwide with his amazing classical prowess. Room 12, 7:30pm, $20/15/5 (GRC student).
